L322 Steering wheel control fault

Hi, I have just bought an L322 (have to say I am very impressed) and the steering wheel has a fault. The airbag light is on and none of the controls or horn works. I just wondered if there was an obvious fix for this or if it was a common issue before I took it to a specialist? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul
