On the Vogue you need a bigger battery than others models , the battery charts at most places will spec one to small, worth checking

If the battery light on the dash stays on with the engine running, the alternator is not charging, no need for a meter. As the battery goes flat, everything will stop working.
Just possibly it could be the earth strap from the engine to the chassis that has failed.

+1 ^^^^^^ MF31-1000 is the biggest that will fit.

Yes worth checking the earth strap by passenger side engine mount, they are known to corrode, sometimes they look ok but are gone under the sleeve.
you can test it with a jump lead on to the engine as an earth.
