My 2003 RR is now really starting to get on my nerves...

Basically it died on the misses. Sequence of events as follows:
1. Insert Key and transponder coil recognises chip
2. Immobilser ECU sends signal to Steering lock to unlock
3. Steering lock, locks and then swiftly locks itself again - doing this three times
4. Now steering locked and unable to turn the key as the ignition barrel solenoid preventing the key from turning

Initially though it might be the ignition barrel solenoid which had gone. Verified that is not the case. Swapped out the ignition barrel, repeated the process and chip recognised in the same way but solenoid still not releasing. Then removed the pin from the solenoid. Now found myself able to turn the key but immobiliser ECU not allowing it to start. Also steering remains locked.

My thoughts are now:
1. Comms issue between immobiliser and steering ECU's
2. Steering ECU no good
3. Steering lock release sensor no good
4. Any wiring related to the above

Has anyone got any experience/bright ideas. Dont really want to have buy a new steering column especially since that might not resolve it. HELP, PLEASE....

Hows is going big boy ?
Where good cheers boss, life is proceeding at a pace....girlfriend is 26/27 weeks preggers - yay!! - which makes life 'fun' at times....

Our current 3 and a half year old is a handful, so I dread the arrival of another one - not that I am displeased - just a bit worried about the logistics of it all...!!!!

Who you been? you seem to be posting at odd times of the small hours and then being up all day too - is the thought of two FFRR's in your life keeping you awake?

Man, you have been busy, and that 3 1/2 years went quick, we can see what you have been up to without an L322 to keep you poor and occupied ;)
Congratulations by the way, a mini Saint this time ?
My sleep pattern is exactly the opposite to a pattern and is quite random and anything keeps me awake and yes including two range rovers...
You will need one of these at this rate.:)
