Hi

Hopefully buying my L322 Range Rover today and i want to get it converted to LPG ASAP i have been looking at this company LPG conversions in 1 DAY! they are offering a package for £1400 and doing the conversion in 1 day. Just wondered if anybody else had used this company for a L322 conversion or any other conversion company.

Thanks

Matt

TBH Matt, "You get what yer pay for" ....if you do go down the LPG route make sure it "certificated" & contact the DVLA to inform them of the conversion (Make sure they issue another V5 stating its got LPG)

Then if by chance you pop down to London (or Manc decides to do a "congestion" charge) you won't be paying any "Fees" ect ect .............

Think you will Keith, unless the vehicle runs exclusivly off LPG and is not capable of running off petrol, there is no reduction in tax or congestion fees as i understand it.

Tony, I think its "THE WAY" you read it ..this from "London Congestion Charge"

Transport for London

Vehicles

Some vehicles qualify for a 100 per cent Congestion Charge discount.
Alternative fuel vehicles

To qualify for this discount your vehicle must be powered by an alternative fuel, bi fuel or dual fuel, and not solely by petrol or diesel. It must also meet strict emissions criteria.

Hi Keith

Thanks for your reply, i have checked on the site an it says they are Approved LPG Installers. Is this what you mean?

Hi Matt

I think Keith is sort of saying that to do a conversion in 1 day might involve cutting a few corners, it might not and these guys can do it spot on in 1 day. But if it was me on a car like an L322 I'd pay the extra for piece of mind.

The London congestion charge is all down to the system fitted. I used to run a factory fitted LPG Transit every day into the zone and didn't pay a penny. But my LPG Classic is not covered so if I venture in I have to pay!!

Be a bit wary of the kit they are fitting. Like most things there are good an bad systems. For the L322 you should be looking at top end kit like Prins or BRC. The others will work OK but as mentioned, you get what you pay for. Doing it in a day is quite possible if they throw enough people at it.

sounds too cheap to me also remember that putting the system in means running cabling and fuel lines sure you can do it quick but will it be neat with no fuel lines exposed or rubbing be careful have a look at the finished results from a couple of jobs. A good tradesman will give you a fully functional and safe job that looks good and can be serviced easily - just some pointers oh and yes go for the best system you can afford I have a prins sequential on a 4.6 cost 2400 to have installed 65k ago and not one problem

Hi Matt

I used this company to do my 4.6 V8 P38 back in November. They do it 1 day (7.30am - 8.30pm in my case) with (again in my case) 3 guys working on it. I had a free car to use during the day.

They also provide a 2 year guarantee, a certificate and insist on you bringing it back after 1 month so that they can check everything and re-calibrate if necessary. Annual servicing costs £40.

Everytime I've been back (we get gas there some times) I've spoken to other customers and have never heard anything bad abouth them. One guy travels down from Nottingham to get all of his cars done. One guy told a terrible story of a badly fitted system somewhere down south that he'd brought to them for fixing.

Why not go and see them in action - I called there to see the workshop and some of their work inprogress before boooking mine in. I also rang to discuss the potential for a conversion on a P38 and the various options before byuing the car - always very helpful.

I always say "speak as you find", and I've found them to be very good.

Also should've said that they were able to fit the filler under the fuel flap alongside the petrol filler, so no unsightly filler in the wing or bumper :)
