hi guys cpl of questions.

1st exhaust question, i have the 4.4 v8 with a hideous back box, can i remove this and just put larger bore exhaust with nice tail pipes on or does it need the back box for back pressure and set up of the engine?

2nd,also im looking at fitting a towbar, people have said im best to use a dedicated harness, which just plugs in,is there anyone who knows where this plugs in?

I'd say 'get erm off'.........it off........ sounds neighbour unfriendly, which is nice!

Back pressure is humpfing 2 huner weight o bruised barley at 10 years old!

Towbar, get the proper kit, plug n play, bit expensive but does what it says on the 'tin', as in it will disengage the reversing sensors and the fog light when you hook something up.

A friend of mine in a BMW with the same engine (ish) removed the rear box on put straight through pipes in its place.
Sounds great but surely must not comply to MOT?
Tow bar? Use proper plug and play kit. fits in OS rear wing. easy to do.

Hamster has removed his back box if you have a look at the first couple of pages of the above thread.
I fitted my westfalia oem towbar and wiring kit and got it from PF Jones and yes definitely get the dedicated kit which includes the towing module and correct loom. I have the part number somewhere but go on their website and put in the vehicle details and it should choose the correct kit but make sure it's the westfalia kit.and as already stated it plugs in to the board behind the removable panel in the right hand side of the boot
This is the kit I got and the 7 pin is also available
