L322 EAS front left air valve

I have just plugged in an diagnosed why the suspension collapsed on L322, the fault reader said 'front left valve fault'.

Where is this located? looked in the boot found the compressor followed single pipe which disappear into the body work.

Help please

If the strut just dropped I would have thought the air bag was leaking

Otherwise the air suspension manifold is located in one of the rear wheel arches as far as I know

As the system will not charge with air even though I tried a re-set how can I test the left front suspension for air leaks?

How did you reset?

If there are no lights at all on the height selector switch, the system has gone into hard fault and the compressor won't run at all.

If there are lights on the selector switch and the hold light is on, the system is in soft fault and the compressor should be able to run and the car will try to level itself.

I am guessing all lights are off...only option you really have is to find a way to get air into the strut and spray with soapy water to find a leak.

The valve block is not totally bullet proof....search this site for a thread by RS2000CUSTOM as he had issues with his valve block and did a rebuild...might be worth a look at!
 
Ok story so far: Taken off and tested front left suspension leg no air leaks, removed and tested valve block all working. Stripped it all ok re-assembled tested working, removed pump tested working. When I get time weather permitting I will put it all back on the car and see what happens after clearing faults.

I used my icarsoft i930 to diagnose the fault and will use the same to clear ....hopefully!
 
Ok, now put it all back together same fault indicating........cleared fault using the icarsoft heard a click from the boot then went back in to fault mode.

I then did a full diagnostic of the suspension, and other than telling me every air valve is closed and the pump is not running a little clue was showing, the front left height control is showing a different higher voltage reading 57.6 compared to the other corners. So is this the problem? Now do I bite the bullet and replace it ? I am down to an electrical problem now.

I will let you know the next stage of the saga.

I swapped the front ride height modules left to right and still have a high voltage problem on the left hand front, so I think this proves the modules are ok.
Removed the EAS ECU and raised the suspension by connecting my air compressor to the system by taking off the pressure relief valve in the boot and adding a T piece with the relief valve and compressor connection, pressured up to 150 psi.
Opened the corner valves by energising them from the ECU plug one at a time, all four corners raised. This has proved the valves are 100% operating mechanically and the wiring connection to them is fault free.
Now I am back to the voltage problem on the left hand front ride height control, this is the only thing that is common to the fault showing left hand air valve fault.
Next weekend subject to weather I will test the wiring from the ECU to the left hand ride height control.
Does anyone know the trigger voltage the ECU sends to the ride height controls?
I will check the voltage to the right hand side as a reference if not.

Any further advancement on this ? It looks like my front near side corner is low down and the rear of the car very raised. I'm suspected the air bag may have gone in the front nearside. [emoji20]
