Hi everyone, i have been having some problems with the lights on my 2004 l322 which are the result of a burnt circuit on th LCM( light control module). First my front right indicator stuck on premanantly then the rear right fog stopped working. Following advice from an auto electrician i removed the LCM from the drivers footwell to discover a melted circuit on the board. My question is that there are of plenty of these BMW LCMs on ebay which are indentical to mine but have different part numbers. has anybody ever put one of these in there RR which can be bought for about £40 or do they have to vehicle specific and programed to the car. Or do i have to go to the stealers and pay £249.00 plus the extra 20% for the chancelor. Cheers.

Amongst all its other duties the light control module acts as a backup to the instrument panel and stores data such as the odometer reading, service interval and the car’s VIN in case the instrument panel is ever replaced. Therefore if the LCM is replaced it has to be connected up to Testbook/T4 to re-synchronise it with the instrument panel. Sorry, I've no idea if a BMW unit will work in a L322.
