L322 2006 facelift

Hi All

I have just sold my P38 and am planning on buying an L322 06 facelift model. can anyone confirm the following

Does the 2006 model have the GM gearbox or was the unit upgraded?
Does it come with a wabasto pre heater

Were there any other major changes to the spec (rangerover.net just covers the petrol model)

think the boxes were upgraded in 2006 to the new boxes. and all diesel models should FBH fitted.

Petrol models switched from the ZF 5HP24 to the ZF 6HP26 when the BMW M62 engine was replaced by the Jaguar AJ unit for 2006 model year.

On the diesels, however, the driveline wasn't updated for another year until the BMW M57 3.0l TD6 engine (GM 5L40-E transmission) was replaced by the Ford 3.6l Lion V8 engine (ZF 6HP26 transmission) for 2007 model year.

Blimey!
It took that long for landrover to relise those gearboxes needed redesigning !

So to avoid the gear box issue I need to get a V8 then (petrol or diesel)

The V8's are quite Beasty

better imo as the td6 is still sluggish
