Wasn't me, but is a common issue....solution is to remove the wiper arms and cycle the motors wait for them to park and refit arms...

Final Stage Resistor is a common one too!!!
I've heard that mentioned a lot regarding battery drain.

Headlamp leveling ECU can cause issues!
The attached extract from Rave might save you some time as when I took my panels off there was no ECU to be found.

I'm not far from Strood, North of the River Medway.

Found this which is completely unrelated to range rovers :)

Thank you very much. Do you know how to do the above then? I am worried I will just cause more issues than I will fix lol. If so and if you don't mind I might arrange to meet up with you I you wouldn't mind?

Have you checked your vin to see if you have a levelling ECU?

To check the ECU for damp is very easy and I only used one screwdriver or preferably a trim tool to lever up the tread panel that runs the length of the door opening, pull off a small section of the door seal and then the trim covering the ECU just pulls off towards you.

It tells you in Rave if you have got a copy or i can print it off or i don't mind showing you but it's literally 3 minutes to get access to it to see if it's wet.

Hi, I have just checked the levelling ECU and all seems fine with that! Not damp or wet at all so I guess we can eliminate that now!

yep, headlamps on and press the windscreen washer

I have now just checked the headlamp wipers and I think we might be getting somewhere. I have taken the wipers off and did what you said. Interestingly only one of the wipers is actually working! (The drivers side). The passenger wipes does not work/move at all. Do you think this could be my problem?

Thanks

Could well be.

both my motors were disconnected when i bought the car, probably for the same reason as both were dead.
You could try disconnecting the faulty one to see if it cures your problem. i think its a black and white mulitplug behind where the motors are, i got to mine from underneath the front of the car.

I would if I knew where is was. Apparently you have the take the front bumper off or get to it from underneath. I am such an amateur with cars I dont know what I am looking for or where the motor is located to unplug it

With the greatest of respect, but if you can't DIY your Range Rover, you better have deep pockets...they are notoriously unreliable!

Get hold of the RAVE manual (check Wammers How To for the P38 EAS Compressor, there is a link there) and set yourself up for some bed time reading!

They are ridiculously complex vehicles!

I am beginning to realise that! However everyone has to learn and start somewhere dont they! I have already started fixing problems. Getting hold of a RAVE manual is a good idea, so thanks for that.

When RR's are great its my dream car but when it goes wrong it's frustrating but still by dream car none the less. ;)

I am relatively new to this compared to the Saint and others on here but even in my short time here i have seen dozens, including myself, who get the thing home, or not sometimes, and then start finding faults which sometimes are an easy fix and sometimes involve major surgery.
Most of which involve a fair bit of cash even if you DIY.

As Saint says, unless you have tonnes of cash, in which case you would have bought a new range rover, then you better learn to fix it yourself or sell it quick :D:D

I have attached a photo which is my passenger side headlight wiper motor connection taken from looking down inside the bonnet behind the light. I can't see my drivers side one which may well be hidden behind the bumper or under the air filter box. that's not to say you will find yours there.

If you have a really friendly indy garage and a previously well looked after car then you could be lucky.

Getting yourself the Rave manual is a must, then an allcomms or similar diagnostic will save you a fortune in garage bills alone, and thirdly, keep posting on here as without this forum i would most likely be the proud owner of a 2.5 tonne garden shed...:)
