Had my 1958 series 2 has been on road for about three weeks now after nearly four years sat on drive. I've noticed ever time i put clutch in to change gear i get a knocking noise and again when i lift clutch it sounds and feels like its coming from rear prop or diff?. but seems to stop after a few miles ?. I've changed oil in diff but no change?.

heck the prop for play while there see if diff flange has play not rotational but movement up/down etc

Yes there is some movement up and down. dose that mean its the prop or the uj joint?.

UJs, just grab hold of the propshaft and wrench it around, you'll soon see where the play is

UJs are dead easy to change, the hardest job is getting the prop shaft off, those nuts are beggars to get at.

..and buy Hardy Spicer UJs or GSK or you'll be changing them again

You can get a tool for undoing the uj bolts, I just use a spanner bent for the job.
