Good afternoon.

lr4 tdv6 2010. had a new battery fitted about 2 weeks ago, everything was fine for a week, now the car wont open/close with smartkeys, wont start with smartkeys and the upper tailgate release works intermittently. i have checked the battery, it shows 12.4v when dissconnected, around 12.2v when connected and over 14v when car is running. i have checked the operation of the tailgate switch, it is working correctly but the actuator isnt getting the signal to open (both checked with a meter) also the rear lh passenger door latch is playing up(only since the new battery). would a broken actuator or door latch fault be causing the problem,(maybe to earth causing a battery drain and causing the above problems including the smartkey not working? or possible earthing problem? car opens via the key blade and starts ok under the steering wheel. Its seems too much of a coincidence for these three problems to start since the batteries been changed?
Thanks

I'm afraid I dint have a diagnostic tool. Although I was wondering if one of the cheap bluetooth ones would pick up door /starting/key issue codes? Tia

If you have a D4, you need a multi-system (not a basic OBD2) diagnostic device. Something like an Icarsoft I930 will give you codes for all the modules fitted.

Was it a decent battery?

Meter will tell you voltage but not power, try same tests with a bulb and two bits of wire, if bulb lights up then wiring/switch is good.

Join the d3/4 forum, and then have a search for wiring splice on the passenger side, cant rememerb if this is alarm or lock related but you never know?

A hard reset is always worth a try, costs nowt and takes minutes.
