have an 02 td4 freelander and only have 1 key and no remote key fob. i've been looking on eBay and seen a few key fobs going cheep. will any key fob do like say an old 214 or 200 400 series etc. or do i have to get a certain 1. also have i to take to main dealer to get programed or can it be done by a certain method myself. also another key would be great but main dealer is very expensive. i was quoted around £170ish for another key and a key fob and programed.

Ta for that,but I meant the cost of Nissarn fobs - they is lots more thin LR ones.I only play with LR stuff,closest I bin to a Nissan was driving a Mazda 4wd in OZ last feb.i no dat, Minge - it was in response to this......

I purchased a second key fob for my freelander, in 2001 it cost £100 from a main dealer and it took them about ten minutes to program it

I had same problem, i have 2 working keys and only one remote locking fob, bought a new fob of fleabay for about £12 I think but have yet to get it programmed, there was someone (lates600 i think0 who could help to a certain extent

i bought a fob off flebay for £25, took it to lanrover specialist as they need to be programmed (autologic) £35, job done. Also get a new one because they can only be programmed a few times then become blocked permanently.
