Somewhere on here or the web, told of problems with the front motors burning out due to staying on too long. I have had problems with the front doors, yet the rear motors are Ok. So where do you get the motors from and the switches please. I have a alternative to the door locks in mind, it's in the planning stage. (ady)But I see you are local to me or at least within a fair distance. I too had major problems which after finding a gizmo from Singapore that has found the source of my RF interference to a wander phone. So hopefully less problems with the BeCM. Good guy is Rick at Brighton did the biz.I have found out the phone is too near the aerial of the car, but parked the other way round, no flat battery. So we are moving the phone socket.

A tired becm can cause door lock burn out by keeping the applied power just a little bit to long.
We can replace the circuit to repair these lock problems & have done so on many in the past.
When these vehicles fault, it's rarely just one thing that goes.

Either you can do a search or I will look in my archives, but I seem to remember that motors from a Peugeot fit or an MGF, micro switches are industry standard parts and can be found on line.

hi lads , I think marty uk will know where to source the motors and microswitches ,,, he has offered to refurb my front drivers door lock and actuator " thanks very much marty " but I just need someone to strip mine outa the door so I can post it to him !!!!!!!!

Yes, MGF fit from the same year. Microswitches, maybe. I tried tracking the motors down here in this thread but the spindles were always too short for the Rangie or the electrical connection was at the wrong end of the motor! http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/central-locking-motor-replacement-198637.html

In that case it'd be worth having a few! To be fair mine have been fine since the new RF receiver but they cannot last forever!

Most motor problems other than burn out caused by the RF receiver are caused by dry bearings in my experience, just had to have the lock apart on the side door of my Transit because it would not lock, stripped the motor mechanism, oiled the motor shaft and away it went
