Not heard of a key #4 but no reason why not. As you say the extra functions are only present on keys #1 & #2.

#4 is a valet key IIRC

Isn't the valet key the one that's a blade without the fob?

No, it's a replacement for when you don't know if the ones you have are 1 or 2 (or 3). I've got a feeling the valet key might be a 5. Marty might know.

I've always been led to believe that using a blade to lock/unlock and a fob to reverse the operation will cause all sorts of problems.

According to the owners manual only FOB's #1, #2, #3 & #4 are available

Certainly only 1 - 4 work with the fob. On the Jag my valet key has no fob, starts the car but cannot open the glove box. Whether there's a key like that for the Rangie I have no idea.

So, I can confirm there is a key #5 and it comes with no FOB. I have one but I had forgotten about it as it's never been used.

In that case i have key 2 and 5

Only key that Otto came with has a scuffed up #4 sticker on it. No idea what or when the other 3 keys disappeared.
Classic Rides North Wales did us 2 new fob keys which work perfectly. Were a bit of a pain to synchronize at first / after battery disconnect but otherwise no issues.

I have key+fob #1 and #2.
Years I only had #1 which CL was iffy with. No idea about RF or anything back then so used to leave it unlocked to avoid issues.

Bought PO pint one night and he dug out #2.
For some reason some time after using #2 key one stopped being able to physically turn in the ignition? Just doesn’t accept it anymore. They are identical to look at the blade

Fairly certain it was you Keith that told me about keys 3 & 4. Was few years ago.

There you go, a genuine Land Rover Key #5. I guess that a new P38 was delivered as standard with FOB's #1 &#2 plus key #5.

Locks and unlocks the glove box. Normally it wouldn't start the car without entering the EKA code though.
