Hi All
I have just fitted a 16 inch fan and a kenlowe thermoswitch the electronic type where the sensor fits in the rad and not in the top pipe. I wanted to fit all the electrics in the cab and not under the bonnet so I extended the sensor cable then i read the full instructions and ir says do not cut or extend the sensor cable, OOP'S . Does anyone know if this will affect the efficency of the system or will it be fine. I did solder the joints and fit heat shrink. i realy dont want to move the lot now its all finished.

The sensor works by varying it's resistance and the wire is taken into consideration in this. You've just increased the resistance by having the joint and the extra wire. I don't know which way it works but either your fan is going to come in late or switch off early. The only way to find out if it's going to be critical is to run it.
