Does it cut out when driving along normally?
Or, does it cut out/stall when its been left idling for a bit?
Does it start easily? It should start almost first turn.
Dont be tempted to chuck it at your garage until you have am idea what the problem is, there are epic tales on here of cars with minor issues having all new injectors fitted, etc etc etc £££££££££££!!!!!!!!

I'm stuck with it for a while. No money to fix it after spending £900 last week. I basically have a £3000 vehicle stood on my drive and no mechanic wants to touch it unless I'm paying £60 an hour for diagnostic fees. Everyone I talk to just laughs and says why did you buy one of them? Thanks for the replies. Hope it's a fuel problem to be honesty as will probably be easier than the electrics to sort.

put up your location more accurataly and ask about a Nancom or hawkeye from a member, somebody near you might be able to come and read the faults for some beer money!

Ok I understand your point. But did you have any info ref the questions I asked?
If its a fuel problem it may mean more spanner work, possibly injector seals, easy to do but require some care.
+1 for what DDCumbria said, if a forumite is near you they may be able to help.

Sorry Mark, it drives brilliantly and I was just saying to the Wife "it pulls like a train" when the thing just packed up. It had started first turn of the key. It did cut out the last time as I was braking fairly hard, the revs dropped off and it went below normal idle and stopped. It was then a pig to get started turning over and over spluttering but then once started drove home as it had been. It's an auto box btw. I'm on here for exactly that, I once replaced 4x injectors and fuel rail on a civic type r for £120 (jap breakers parts) and Honda tried having my pants down for £1200 + VAT + labour. I just hate how garages automatically say it's the most expensive part they can think of causing the problem then you keep going back for other bits and bobs because it wasn't the expensive part at fault.

That's precisely why you need to get it on a proper diagnostic tester. They may seem expensive but can easily pay for themselves by narrowing down the problem without throwing unnecessary new parts at the car.

Sierra ferry. Is it possible for it to be a worn valves causing low compression
? Just for reference, I am her really to learn about how to fix cars and the guys on this forum have been top notch with the occasional ropey comment to balance it out. Just roll with it,learn about your vehicle and be aware that these.things are expensive unless you get help from the community.
Now also thinking air leaks.

Sorry, i'm not the man to be asked about such complex mechanical stuff, all i know is that low compression is caused by worn piston rings
