Does anybody know if i can get rid of the airbox and pipework and just put a K+N filter on the outlet on side of the engine?, it a V8 disco 2 running LPG

Yer i meant the inlet lol, the pipework that goes from the airbox to inlet is knackered so instead of buyin a new one of them i was thinkin of the K+N instead

I've not got a v8 so I couldn't tell you. But There will be ways around it.

I'd stick with standard pipework, you'll have to include the MAF and that takes you almost to the filter anyway.
Remember that MAF's are damaged by solvents and neat petrol, just in case you feel the need to wash your K&N filter out.
K&N filters are expensive and a waste of time and money, unless you have done some serious tuning to the engine, and even then the standard filter is more than up to the job.

If you use a cone k&n filter you will need an induction kit , or you can use a k&n panel filter in the standard air box.

The main reason they are fitted to LPG vehicles is to overcome the problem of the airbox being blown apart everytime the engine backfires. This only applies to singlepoint LPG though, multipoint shouldnt do it. If you can, stick with the standard airbox, it flows cooler air to the engine and will stay clean for longer.

Thats the exact reason i wanted to fit a K+N on mine, but as its just had multipoint on due to the single point blowing the gas valve, so ive bought a new airbox and pipework so sticking to original

Not so much, no. Mine has blown apart so many times I now keep it held shut with cable ties :s

Mine has just cost 730quid, thats too have the single point and all old wiring ripped out and multi point put in, that obviously doesnt include tanks or pipework, i had that done last year as the tanks were kernackered
