Aye up Pals.
Got the last two jobs done today before we go Battlefield touring in a few weeks. As the Motor has done just over 100,thou, a thought niggled me about the Starter Motor. I had a Rover 420 Diesel, L series engine and a great car. The starter Motor packed in at 80 thou and after some research found the prob and got the kit to repair of Ebay. Rather than wait for it to happen in France or Belgium I decided to do it, and I'm glad I did. The contacts were paper thin and due to go at any time. I know covered very well on this forum so won't go through every stage. But a job worth doing before you need to be towed home. For just over a Tenner for the kit and an hour or so's work, I thought better done out the back of my house than the back lanes of the Somme.

The other was the Driver's side window regulator. I went for the full new kit. and glad i did. It was a un-bolt old, take out, and in with the new. On examining the old there was quiet a bit of wear in some of the parts, so for under £30 for the lot I'm very chuffed. One thing I did note on stripping the door down, this is an 03 plate Freelander. There's not a spec of rust inside the doors. what does that say for this Motor. I'm lucky enough to have access to a pit, and the under Body etc is remarkable. This car will out see me!
Cheers all

Not uncommon for the inside of the doors to be rust free. The body has all it's internal cavities waxed during manufacture.
