Looking for one in need of a resto as it's all we can afford and hubbie has restored classic cars in the past.

Biggest problem we have is no driveway or garage

As it would be tax exempt could it be kept and worked on at the side of the road or does it have to have an MOT.

I know I said I can't drive but I can, just not on roads but I could have a go in it off road when it's fixed up :D

would need an mot if just tax exempt, even if mot exempt it would still need to be "roadworthy" to be kept and used on a public road afaik

you could probably do a rolling restoration at the roadside risk would be if some pita neighbour complained and it wasn't roadworthy.

Thanks honolulujoe (it just took me ten minutes to type your name lol).

So we really do need one with an MOT. The one I was watching on Ebay was MOT'd and went for £1600 ... it didn't really need that much work to be honest.

We've been on the waiting list for a garage for 2 years now

Need to think this through ... was getting really excited too :(

Dunno what P&P is but there's no green laning in Anglesey :( ... plenty of desolate beaches though, espesh in the winter.

I have got a provisional but I'm seriously dangerous on the road and wouldn't risk it at all with current brain injury ... it's bad enough when I'm crossing the road ...

P and p means pay and play, There are places across the country where you pay to go to an offroad site, and you can leagally drive about and have fun! Often they are the last sunday of every month (only open 12 times a year, due to legalities)
A rolling restoration I think is all youll be able to due to your circumstances my main advice is to get the best condition landy you can afford, it will save you in the long run! Out of interest which series are you thinking? And what engine ?

The series 3 88 appealed to me at first but hubby is now starting to do some research. Going to see if we can get hold of some Classic Landy mags and stuff off ebay too.

Posting on here is really helpful as lots of you guys are experts and one I posted up yesterday was immediately spotted as being a wrongun.

Hubbie knows the ins and outs of TR's and VW's but has never restored a Landy before. He has literally re-built TR's and Dubs though but that sort of resto is obviously not practical where we are now (plus apart from the 3 which is too expensive and would be likely to get trashed up here ... I don't really like TR's  )

I doubt there's a P&P up here but now I know what one is I'll check it out ... no green laning though :(

There's a lot of bloody legalities involved with having fun in a Landy isn't there
