OK so it's not an imaginitive username.
I've long had a love of Land Rovers, the first one I drove was a friend's L-reg Station Wagon in the 80s, which felt like it was all over the road when it wasn't. Welcome to Series Landys! Another friend had a Series I lightweight for a while, then later he had a Series II LWB hard top which he later sold to friend 1 above. Confused? So was I.
My first Landy was a 1974 diesel Santana LWB Station Wagon about 16 years ago. That was another wake-up, I nearly lost control of it on a dirt track once, down hill, jumped out of gear and I could only just about hold it on the brakes. It had no seat belts. It leaked diesel. One of the doors had a tendency to fly open when cornering. It still passed the MOT anyway, it was great.
I sold the Santana and for the last 10 years or so I've had a Series III LWB hard top with 6-cyl engine. It's been off the road for many years although driven off road (sounds great of course). The previous owner overheated it and I parked it up after the oil turned to mayonnaise but I have always intended to get it back on the road and keep it original, so with a number of spares in stock I might just get round to it this year. That's my story...
