Hello, I posted a while back when i started looking at Disco's and now i am a proud owner of one :)

Only picked it up tonight and been out most of the night so not had much chance to play, but a few things are puzzling me...

I have a heated windscreen, it is connected up under the bonnet, although if the relay is there or not i'm yet to check, however, i don't think there is a switch for it in the cab, unless it's on the same as the rear demister? If not, will the wiring be there and do i just need to buy a switch?

Also noticed the middle seatbelt is missing, so something else to fix,

But, generally a very happy Disco owner :)

Mike

The front screen has its own switch and is located above the rear screen one, most if not all vehicles are wired for them, just require the screen / switch/ relay and "enabling" in the BCU.

Congratulations for your purchase ......use it with health.....next step for u is to download RAVE for Disco2 and flick through it sometimes(they must have gave u at least the owner's handbook:eek:)....untill then.

Against all odds I love my Disco2, i have had several other cars before it but this one is the first i stick to even if sometimes is driving me crazy(albeit i'm the one who must drive it like a crazy:D)......I accept even the fact that i must pay over 30 pounds just for shipping every time i need a bit. Land Rover's could've made some mistakes but beside they managed to insert some kind of virus in it:)

Thanks, I guess the 'getting it changed in the BCU' bit is a garage job and a costly one? (for what they have to do anyway)

Yes, i could have found the owners manual, or, googled, but, at 23:45 last night, and the fact that i wanted to come into the Disco section to say, 'hey, i have a disco too now' meant it was far easier to ask the 'experts'

I'm sure u will find a helpfull chap around with a proper scantool to help u. Or u dont even need that....... patience my friend u'll sort out slowly everything.......there are things which could look complicated on first sight and a garage will ripp u of for nothing......after a while u'll realise that it was just a max. 10 min easy job that u could've made yourself without probs.

You'll need a dealer or access to a Nanocom or HawkEye. Since buying a Disco TD5 you would be well-advised to buy a tool such as HawkEye as they are very useful at checking out the running condition of you new motor.

Enjoy,

Dave

Excellent, I shall have to ask Santa for one.

And in the mean time if anyone in the Derby / Burton-on-Trent / Swadlincote / Uttoxeter type part of the world has a Nanocom or HawkEye and is happy to help me out please shout!

(Or in Pembrokeshire at any point next week as i shall be holidaying)
