Hi All,
I have a Freelander TD4 which I use to tow a boat. I need to be able to push it to make parking up my drive easier. Are there any ready made fitting to fit a front tow ball or have you any advice. Thanks:cool:

Don't they fit reverse gears onto vehicles these days? That would let you push the trailer backwards.......

whatever you use i would make it removable.... otherwise someone (mot tester?) will decide its a danger to pedestrians..... might even give the insurance an excuse to run away

might be easier to use an anchor and a hand winch?

Thanks for the comments, having now seen the manufactured front bar I’m sure I can knock one up and with a removable hitch.

It’s not that it can't be reversed, that easy enough. The drive is only two feet wider than the boat and with the vehicle still in the drive between the house and the drive wall there is not enough room to manoeuvre the boat around obstacles at the back to park it. Front pushing will give the manoeuvrability needed to turn it 2/3 feet at the back as only a small amount of turn is required this way round.

we used to use a couple of four wheeled (one at each corner not tandem axle) hay trailers they were pigs to reverse but a bit easier if hitched on the front of the tractor rather than the rear.... till youve tried it you wouldnt beleive the difference it makes
