Just lost my sump plug!

My sump plug has just come out as I was on my way home, luckily I was only a few hundred yards from home when it came out. The first I knew was when the oil light came on as I turned into my street! Finding a sump plug at 10.30 on a Sunday morning was going to be nigh on impossible, but luckily as it turns out the Landrover sump is 1/2" bsp and I have a few bsp pipe fittings in my garage, so I used a 1\2" bsp plug with some ptfe thread tape around it, job done!

couldn't you just follow the trail of oil back to the plug

I tried that, but it must have come out on the dual carriageway, and I did'nt fancy walking up the middle of there!
