just done a coolant change now overheating

he out with boat in dock he teaches cannoing and power boating than on the **** i would think as norm i prob wont see him till friday only nite he comes home from work then back out makes me sick lol
 
you can allways take a set with you as for hot start the only way i know is new or recon pump lots of ££££££££££££££££
 
right here goes, checked header tank its low looked under car there a puddle (old one im hoping), looks like its coming from bottom of engine i only took 2 pipes off when i done coolant and they are ok so ??????????
 
hi skip how low was water? fill it up slow try not to spill any start her up then on your back see if any leeks look at water pump you could try befor you start dry rag round bottom of pump and pipes you took off

bit dark now ill do it in morning, i did check the pipes i took off but only took the pipe off the bottom of header tank and top right hose on rad and there aint nothing there, the water was about 2-3" below the join of the header tank, DAM CAR

as you guessed i dont know much about these (well cars), is the water pump near the bottom pulley which fan is connected to
 
Makes no difference whether the water is hot or cold when you refill.
Obviously you have an air lock if there were no problems with overheating before you changed it.
Just follow the procedure on RAVE for coolant refilling.

long time no hear :D, the overheating is ok now its just i think there is a leak now :mad:
 
Got a 3 day a week contract over in Galway which means I am away from Mon-Wed night. The hotel has Wi-fi which is about much use as a chocolate teapot so I just don't bother trying.
Retirement had it's advantages !!
Still open to helping you guys out though and making up for lost time when I get home.
