Just bought my first RR

Hi all i'm brand new and could do with a bit of help please..

I've just bought a 1996 4.6 hse with a lpg conversion. I've already fallen in love with it but there are one or two issues that have become apparant and i'm not sure where to go from here really.

Firstly it doesnt overheat, the suspension works ok, and the lpg runs very smoothly.

*I was driving the other day and put the car in 'sport' mode briefly, then changed back. Ever since it seems to change gears eratically and also there is some kind of knocking/ticking when its in gear but not when in park/neutral Any ideas on what this could be??? (taking a gulp)

*Second thing is the sunroof only slides back and forth and will not go into the tilt position. The message display says windows/sunroof not set when you take the key out and the sunroof wont shut properly.

* Last but not least, the air con seems to do funny things. Unless I have the heaters on full there is a blowing of cold air on my right foot by the accelarator pedal. Also a little book is showing on the heating control panel.

I'm sorry to drone on but I really need some advice

I love the thing apart from these issues and am not very mechanically minded.

download rave manwell and seal up the sunroof with bitimum and never open it up again.
you may do well with a faultmate if ya gunna keep it OR rip oot all the eletrick****erie and put it on carbs

oh and dont open the windows

Check/change the ATF

the sunroof needs to be taken through its full motion, back then back to closed. tilt up then back to closed and it should set it on the lcd screen. if that doent work you can close it manually by taking the console off around the interior light area and wind it manually with the key provided (or some other implement if its not there) it may need a clean/refurb but at least you can close it manually till you have time to fiddle with it.

the aircon/heating fault is probably the blend motor gone. take the controls through the full range and if there is no change in direction to the floor and then screen its the blend/distribution motor, also hot to cold.

its good to hear you like the car but i would get it serviced(or do it yourself) and also get the gas system serviced just to make sure everything is ok and in tip top condition! also keep a close eye on water level as this is imperative to both gas and normal system. if lpg system is manual switch over dont switch over too early from cold or it could freeze up the vapouriser. normally though its fine if you have stopped for just a few minutes i.e popping in shop or petrol station. i would imagine its a single point system so keep on top of plug and lead changes. i would say change plugs every six months if you can but you dont have to use the expensive one if youre changing that regular and maybe try and buy a joblot off ebay or somewhere to get em cheap. also make sure the leads are in good condition and if unsure change em and then you know they are sound. this little regime saves some of the hassle of backfireing!
