Hi all. Just getting ready for a new set of twins and need some advice. I have had a look around the net but could not find a definitive answer. I have a discovery 2 which has forward facing jump seats. I have used the disco for family holidays up to this point but do not feel comfortable carrying the whole family in it for long journets. I'm thinking of driving in convoy for holidays but my question relates to short journeys. Is it possible to use the rear seats with full size child seats. i am planning on putting the two three year olds in the rear whilst having the two babies in the middle row. Is this possible and if so , have I missed out on any danger elements?

Thanks a million

To quote the Owner's Handbook:-
"The third row seats are (sic) Unsuitable for use with many child restraints due to the limited space between the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Smaller forward facing restraints and booster cushions may safely be used in these positions if a good fit of the child restraint can be achieved following the manufacturers instructions.".
So I would assume from that the general consensus would be "Dunno, try it and see".

The only issue I could see would be the risk of getting tail ended and the wee ones being there. But that would be the case with any vehicle with third row seats.

Cheers for that Brian. Very true Meego. I have been lucky enough to have avoided being rear ended and the stats on what happens when being rear ended are very slim as there are few vehicles with third seats involved in accidents and often the third row are not occupied at the time. It is a worry but luckily I will not be using it that often with the rear seats occupied
