Put leads wrong way on battery to jump start wifes car. Range rover saying ecu needs replacing but have not give me a price. Anybody got an idea of what they costs its a 15 plate vogue 4.4

Welcome to the forum. Your best bet would be to post this in the Range Rover forum.
My sympathies, if it really does need an ECU then a Land Rover dealership will fleece you very professionally indeed. I would have thought that there was some form of reverse voltage protection - a fuse or fuseable link to protect the electronics and I would ask the question, but modern cars are so sensitive to the power supply you may well have done some very expensive damage. :(

No words.
Trip to Spec-Savers for you my lad for a colour-blindness and "+/-" shapes test.
I should imagine LR will make sure that it is a painful experience and one that maximises their trading position globally.
You could be in for a few hundred for a moments carelessness. Oops!
But what the heck, if you can afford a luxo-barge like that its chicken-feed isn't it? :D

Im going to take into account 8 words of what you have posted as useful information. As for the rest of it i will just try to ignore as it is unhelpful and insulting.

Welcome...don't go anywhere AG forum if you don't like a bit of banter...this forum section is for introducing yourself and your vehicle not asking questions...try the correct section...

Sorry mate but your a bit new.
And as the 2 ^^^^ have said (good guys by the way) it’s probably gonna get expensive.

If your handy with electronic stuff and have diagnostics and can find a scrapper with all the bits and plenty of time and patience . Then you may save a bit, with help. But with such a new RR it could still be difficult.
But by the sounds of it you don’t have that ability?

We like a laugh on here and if you can’t suck up your mistakes and allow a bit of humour to get involved then...

Have a laugh and lighten up :).

Welcome:)

J

No, don't go, we were just getting to like you.
You won't find a better forum than this one for depth of knowledge and real help. Take a deep breath and let's all start again. Me included. ;)

Doub't he'll come back Dan I think we got our wires crossed with this one...
Only one party in this dialogue got their "wires-crossed" I think.
I do feel bad. It's Friday and I was only joking with him.
I have not met too many blokes that get to 40 and are still so "sensitive" and banter-averse. But hey-ho.

It was his intro that bothered me after his reply to you...

Now im the bad guy!!!!! Nice knowing you for a short while.
Grow a pair would ya. jeez

Jump starting a modern RR is a risk even when done right..

Incorrectly jump starting one will almost certainly fry something..

The Dealer will sting you in that regard as fixing it won't be cheap.

Hairdresser!!!! Lol. You have enticed me back. Far from a hairdresser . Car history m3, 911, panamera, audi r8 spyder and now the RR.
