Jatco gearbox clicking

hi

this morning when i started the FL i put my foot on the brake as usual to take it out of park,

as i put my foot on the brake there is a loud click coming from the gearbox, it clicks on and off as i put my foot on and off the brakes.

ive been trying to find out info, but im moving house today and my beloved friend candy is going to her new temp home this afternoon.


sorry to ask you guys about this as i know i do ask alot of questions.

hopefully its nothing too serious

i think today is going to be one of those days.

Probably the mechanical interlock which stops you selecting drive unless you have a foot on the brake, think it is a pin operated by a solenoid, haven't noticed mine clicking but will have a better listen. Maybe yours is loose or something.

, thanks for that, i have never heard it before until this morning, if i put my hand on the gear stick and put my foot on the brake can feel the click through the gear knob.

weird, but i think you may be right, maybe something has just come loose, i saw that if i replace it i need a special tool.

do main dealers do these or can they be bought off ebay etc.

don't worry about it, mine does it, and always has since the day I bought it. It had 36k on the clock then, and has 84k now, and it hasn't got any worse or any better.
