jap import key programing

ive got a 2002 v8 jap import that starts once if you plug it on to the computer but the remote doesnt work or the alarm light doesnt flash does it have to go on land rovers computer to do it properly ?

I read in the forum a few weeks ago that Japanese spec disco's don't have alarm systems only central locking, so if that's true then try a new battery in the key that may get your C/L working.

Might be misunderstanding you mate but I have a 1999 Jap import, when I clcik my remote the central locking works fine all over however I dont get any lights flashing....Should I? Certainly never bothered me to be honest.

its the not starting once the autologic is unpluged that iam really trying to sort, cant work it out at all ? i need to find sombody that has the program gear and knows the d2 inside out everybodys i will have a look but not sure :5bbanghead:

i think ive fixed it a faulty relay in the fuse box next to the battery its started ten times now ????????

but how did you find that it was this relay giving u the problems. How many people ever look in the engine bay fuse box i did once but years ago.

i worked out the computer was supplying power to the ecu and as soon as it was unplugged it lost its memory so it had to have been a power problem looked for the feeds in the fuse box it was the one closest to the battery swapped it for one out of a bmw ? its fine now on starting but the remote still wont work the central locking but it works on the door and the indicators flash too the alarm light also works on the clocks :clap2:
