Morning All,

Posted already on the Range Rover Section but trying to keep to the forum's etiquette so thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Paddy and I live just outside Coventry. The home of the Sky Blues, The Specials, loads of bombs in the war, Jon Gaunt (God forgive us) and numerous historic cars. Work in the automotive prototype industry and see many vehicles at least 18 months before they hit the road.

Bought a 2003 L322 autobiography a month ago Cherry Black with walnut burr interior. Really nice looking car and great to drive that's if it wasn't in the bloody garage all the time. (see main post for boring details!!).

I'll be lurking in the back ground and so look forward to contributing to this site.

All the best,

Paddy

thats nice that .... i ofcourse would'nt be allowed in it cos i'm a dirty 90 owner .... oily ass and so on ... you understand ....

Briefly as I have posted in the main RR section. The binnicle (dial cluster) has had a bit of nervous breakdown resulting in the rev counter, speedometer, sat nav, tv, message dsiplay, audio all don't work. Been in at the local main dealers who did the diagonostic thing for £110 and gave me the car back saying they didn't know what the problem was. It is in a local specialist garage at the minute and they hope they can solve the problem.
Just want to drive the bloody thing!!

Also going to probably get LPG conversion soon so will be scanning the site for old posts and any advice before I do.

Great site by the way.

yeh i sneaked in the rr bit and read it when no ones was lookin ....

thats the trouble with eletrikery stuff , if it goes wrong yer knackered . diagnostic stuff neaded to mend it ..... thats why even if i could afford one i dont think i would buy one ..... very very nice to look at but scary when they go wrong ...
one of my bosses has a rr sport , supercharged thing , bluddy nice but again i dont think i would ..... he uses it just fer work tho .... he also has an aston fer when the mood takes him ....

Sounds like he has too much money. Ask him for a pay rise!!
Sorry to sound stupid but is a 90 a defender?
The reason I ask is I'm about to start manufacturing some blingy accessories for the Defender and the Freelander so trying to get to know any nick names etc for other RR or LR vehicles.

yes .. more or less , a 90 is a defender .... its a bit more to do with the age cos a 90 is an older defender ( name change thats all ) ....

with all due respect paddy try not to turn this into a spam thing cos it wont go down well .... i absolutly mean no disrespect .... just join in and enjoy yer stay ....

you paid a ton and got nothing to show for it?!  :(

Yes mate.
I told them that was the best £110 I will ever spend at their garage as basically I won't be back so they can't take more off me.
The work shop manager came out and said they would have a look at halfing the hourly rate from £85 / hour + vat if I was to leave the car wit them. If they can do that it shouldn't be that cost in the first place.

that hourly rate is scary .... were the hell do they get that from ... ??? at best the mechanic would be on £10 per hour .... ( at very best ) ... amazin...

Well someone has to pay for the fancy building set in landscaped gardens, the dolly bird to greet me (no offence - she was actually very nice), the fresh coffee, the 42" plasma screen with Sky and the 6 foot owl and the 6 foot eagle statues carved out of oak. Come on its value for money......isn't it?
