with regards to the headlights,i upgraded to the ones you have listed, there great if you dont mind them turning into goldfish bowls and filling with water..u need to waterproof the back of them really..me im thinking of goin back to sealed beam units

thats a good point... I had enough of washing and cleaning the disco headlights.. so I quite like the fact of sealed units.

and... its also a real pain to get one headlamp out to clean...
take the indicators out and all the surround and then you get to the headlamp...what a clever design!

(you guys probably already know this, but its all new to me!)

yeh tis a pain in the ass..i even tried washing them in the dishwasher, which sort of worked, but then they get full up again next time ya go out in the mud,n water.

sealed beam units i dont think are as bright but compared to halogen units full of water n mud im sure they are

Rust wise is good, the rear x member is fine (its not the original one!), the chassi is sound, didnt find any rust holes or places where its about to go..
the bulkead is good too, bit of rust on the inside only, but not major..
the only really rusted area is the door bottoms on the inside, but in the summer will sort it out and put some plates in...

just been out doing some bits on it and have found out you can't replace a bulb on them!
I dont have dipped on the left side, but have main beam... weird funny headlamps, never seen anything like it, they are completly sealed..! is this the case of getting a new one?

The Disco behind the Defender is off a mates, waiting to get a cambelt change done.

My disco has 2 months left MOT....just need to weld a plate on the rear cross member and a 6inch plate on the rear passenger footwell, over the sill and that's it.

Get it through the MOT and sell it on.
All extras included, not going to take anything out. Also included 4 spare doors, a transfer box, steering box and steering rod

keep the steering box and rod you might need them !!

the wheel is the first thing to go... I really dont like it there, it's going to go inside in the back.
not on the rear door as I know it fks the door..

Just a quick one...
was looking at snorkels, seen some coming out the top of the wing, others on the left and even right...

suppose it doesnt matter really? as long as I can get an air filter box in there...
I think mine will have to come out on the left top wing or on the left side... need to sort a snorkel soon

mines a safari copy..£100

That fooker usually appears parked next to me while I'm sleeping in my truck in a layby.
