who says the freelander isnt capable, pulled 3 cars up my street hill this morning 6 inches of snow, td4 wasnt fazed.
but it is funny seeing people drive 5mph in there 4x4
not as funny as the ones who think that just because they can get going better than everyone else they can also stop quicker........

yes very true you may be in a 4x4 but you still got to stop it to many idots in them going far to fast they think cause there in one all is safe very very untrue so going 5mph is better than doing 30.has a man in his x5 found out to day near our farm

Well, I had my 2001 TD4 in the snow for the first time. In fact, first time I ever been in a 4x4 in the snow.

Simply unbelievable, I could not stop grinning. In the town's steep hills, the 2WD's were flappin around and turning sideways and backwards, wheels screeching away, sort of like watching slow-mo drunken dodgems... yet me an the Freelander, I just pointed ituphill in the outside lane and it accelerated up the snowy hill, like, accelerated!?!?

Absolutely brilliant they are, people just don't believe it.

They seem to think we are taking huge risks - but we are not.

I have every confidence in mine, but having said that they cannot defeat the laws of physics, on corners etc. for example. Take care.

Pretty good for a vehicle that 'isn't a real landrover though, is it. It hasn't got all those levers and buttons has it?' :D:D

Who needs a draughty 'fender? :D

after having a freelander last year that was brilliant in the snow i've got to admit i was slightly worried at how my range rover was going to perform with its 20" Stormers with quite wide tyres fitted :S

Worry over ! it performed brilliantly, never got stuck once, went everywhere other cars couldnt with ease :)

even with slick summer tyres fitted !

very impressed indeed :)

even went down a few lanes for some fun ! hehe

any one else got there snow pics with their landys ?

Please be aware though that you need to stop and corner, take it easy and brake gently in plenty of time.

I also pull over and let the tail gaiters past. I'm not risking my car and insurance prices and I feel its safer to let them have their smash infront of me, than into me.

Enjoy though, there's no snow here but plenty of ice. A mate out his meriva, a fence and a lamp post into a field on Saturday.

Well...

No sooner had it arrived than it disappeared again! It was fun while it lasted though. Time to think about removing my prop until November.

Andy.

In hope of snow for the weekend I fitted my spare set of wheels and Camac Terra's all we have is bloody rain:(

I've even got my chains out the shed. :(

We have fog too - plenty of it - can't see a bloody thing - very dangerous tonight.

Nephew in South of France says he has plenty snow, though, and summer tyres on his BMW.

Ah well - such is life.
