is this the wrong oil for my 2001 dhse ?

hi all i got a full service done on our new to me rangie a couple of weeks (2001 2.5dhse) ago as i really didnt have the time and it was very cold out, but on looking through the paperwork they have put in 15w 40 oil in her is this wrong as my handbook states 10w 40 i have been back to garage and there computer says 15 w 40 (showed me it did) but no where in my book or on this site says to use 15 40 will this cause any long term damage ? its just garage wont change it as they say its right and it did cost quite a bit any help either way would be mint thanks
