There was still pressure in there which was probably why it was hard to undo. Depressurise fully and next to no fluid comes out and I have always found they unscrew easily.

The ABS is relatively benign on the P38, it's the TC firing wen not needed that I don't like.

Sounds a bit odd. I have to be really brutal to get my ABS to fire. Might be worth checking your slider pins and make sure the cylinders slide in and out easily with no corrosion or holes in the rubbers. Might be worth a brake bleed too.
The sensors feed the speedo as well so you need the sensors. And the TC uses the same mechanism in the modulator as the ABS so hard to see how you can separate them.
Yep we checking the air is out tomorrow.
There is a way - someone taken 4 years to figure it out.
Its the green white wires under the fuse box. where one of the relais coming out for the abs.
That wire can be switched.
Switch of and on when pleased.
Dosnt affect the becm or give a hard hard fault.
Neither affect the tc.
All it does switching the abs off but the rest works and give signal to the abs as it should.
Tacho works unlike pulling the fuse.

Some thing on the brake system is not right if its cutting in like that, i have occasionally had it braking down hill in the wet as a wheel hit a manhole cover but thats it, but when i did have to do an emergency stop on the M6 i was very glad of it.
Its maiy the side the new hub is on. When steering to the right the right abs kicks in easy.
Thats the one I had to replace the sensor.
I rather don't fancy buying and having the job for putting a new oody hub in.

And I always had problem with abs.
Never liked them.
All it does is getting the stopping distance longer.
I learned how to use breaks even by sliding.
Hours on end on wet and ice roads. Lol.
All that abs tce ... whatever is for ...
people make a.license and think the car does everything for them.hardly anyone nowadays know the size of his own car.
If it wouldn't cost to much I would buy a classic mazda pick up 4 years older then the p38 because of not having all that fancy so called safety cap.

No more fancier than next doors ford focus. Repair it, sell it and buy your Mazda pickup.
I think you simply bought the wrong car.. There is no point complaining about it while fixing it an then saying it's not all this and that in the same breath, saying you don't bloody like it???

The braking system was one if the best in its time at stopping 2.25 tank with a trailor and a gross train weight of nearly 6.7t? (correct me if I'm wrong)
You have an issue on that hub assembly with the sensor if it's activating going around a corner. It's not the vehicle there is an error somewhere.

Have an accident and you may find you are uninsured.
The ABS almost never kicks in on either of mine, the TC annoyingly does turning on gravel.
cleaned that ring for the sensor and works now. still going ahead and put a switch for the abs.
i know some day i drive in wet grass or mud and i have no desire dealing with a rrrrrrrhhhhhhh and dont stop.
but brakes sorted now. thanks guys.
next .... dual battery ( as i still have the smaller one which is only 3 month old / splitcharger and done ) to power the fridge and other appliances for long trips. lol

Marty has dual battery and dual air compressor.
Only want a dual batterie system. Powering electric cooling biz and other extra appliances and not using the main batterie.
Air compresdor is new. So it should be OK. Just put it in couple weeks back. Lol

The caravan towing wiring is behind the nearside rear light cluster. I don't know how clever the voltage regulation is by the BECM. Mine has separate relay, voltage sensitive switch and wiring for my tow-socket so they clearly didn't trust it. However, that gave me the chance to use the original wiring for an auxiliary power socket in the boot that is permanently 12V.

P38 Caravan wiring for the 7N connector is behind the right hand side panel, the 7S wiring is behind the left hand side panel. I posted a wiring list some time ago. No voltage regulation in the BECM that I'm aware of, there is current sensing for the indicators so the little trailer lights up in the dash when a trailer is connected.
Sounds like whoever fitted your trailer wiring just teed into the lighting wiring rather than use the connections provided.
