Is this normal??

Was under my TD5 this evening having another look at this oil leak, still can't work it out where its coming from.

Anyway out of interest tried to turn the front prop shaft and it moved, only in the direction its meant to go, moved about half inch of play. Didnt move towards front and back of car, but the back one is rock solid, can't move it at all. Is it normal that they might move?

Car was on level ground, parked in Park (Auto) with hand break on.

anything up to 1/8 of a turn of play is normal / OK.

if you take the hand brake off, you'll probably find the rear prop does the same as HB is holding the back prop still
