Anyone have any idea what this is and where it goes?

Long story short. Two garages had my D4 2010 SE 3.0 and went all through the car trying to find a fuel issue which ended up being a high pressure fuel valve and 6 new injectors. Got the car back and found this in the boot. No idea what it is or where it goes.

Looks like a cill molding cover thing.

And I expect so though you may need some of those funny push-into-place clip thingys.
I don't have a D4 but others who do will be able to tell you all about it.

If I had payed a garage to do the job, I would be straight back there telling them to do the job properly, not leave bits in the boot.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mech took it off, stuck it in the boot and just forgot he'd done that. Then carried on regardless. If it isn't visible unless you get underneath it wouldn't surprise me. honest mistake maybe.
But they will put it back if he asks them.

If it was a 10mm washer I could understand it, but its half a bumper.

That’s in the glove box
