What do the piston crowns look like?
Hiya, been hearing a weird clanking coming from the old coal burner up front so a taken the top of the engine off and the valve pokers look like this? is this something to worry about or is it normal?

damaged I would have thought , those pokers are more bent than mackersWhat do the piston crowns look like?
you have such a way with words -normal after a quick / 'ghetto' broken-cambelt repair (usually bends the pushrods as your photo)
normal people remove the pushrods & hammer straight before reusing...
posh people buy new

nothing a bit of emery cloth couldn't handle
Wait, you replace yours before they snap??!reminds me, must replace the cambelt on the Ninety as I've just fitted a 'used' 200 engine
