Is there a trick????

As some of you may have read i have been having problems with my Rear ACE pipes on my Discovery 2 :'(

Well I've managed to get both old ones off as one was leaking the other had a slight weap BUT had to cut them in the middle to untangle them from the chassis.

Now having spent a "few" quid on new Landrover ones :shock: im wondering if there are any tricks to getting the new ones back in without breaking them. I had considered getting some plumbers 10mm(i think) straight fittings so i can cut the pipe in a conveniant place to get them round the chassis then rejoing them with the couplers but not sure if this is a good idea cos I'd rather kep them in one peice as its one less joint to fail

Also has anyone bled the ace system? I've got a nanocom but not sure exactly what the process is do i just rune the bleed command from the nanocom or do i need to undo some sort of bleed nipple or somit??

SO any thoughts??

I changed the pipes last year and they fitted(U have to have a little patience and skills) do not "disturb" their original status, there is a huge pressure in them when ACE is working. The bleeding was made by Autologic, Nanocom will do it as well without any other procedures.I'll not talk too much myself, see this maybe it'll help http://www.landroverclub.net/Club/HTML/ace.htm

Well pipes are fitted.....took some doing to get the pipes around the chassis without snapping them. My main problem was we had snapped the pipe just short of the ace block under the car and getting the old peice out was a nightmare or at least it was for my brother BUT we got there in the end and there does not seem to be any leaks

I have not bled the system with the nanocom yet, just ran the engine and topped up the fluid as it dropped, then rocked the car and topped up some more and then took it for a brisk drive down the bendy road and upto now it seems ok.

What do peeeps think is it essential to bleed the system using a nanocom or do you think i should be ok.

Reason i dont want to use the nanocom is that the badly written instructions suggest that you need to disconnect the link rods first and then something about a silent box that needs disconnecting ??? not sure what they are talking about. Has anyone done this with a nanocom??

Unfortunately I don't know how Nanocom does it, I can tell you just that I used my car about 2 weeks after the pipes were changed and it went OK.............after that by luck I met a guy with Autologic and he made the ''bleeding''........... I felt a big improvement(might be just an impression)

To be honest the car feels great, i've been around a few roundabouts completly and she handles the same as ever so i think i may not have to bother with the bleed after all. The ACE fluid level has not dropped in the resevoir so i suspect that most if not all of the air is out.
