is my diff lock working??

hi all, have had my defender for a few months now but still learning things. when i select diff lock in high or low like the other day in the snow, the light comes on as if it has been selected but not all 4 wheel spin in sync is this normal or what can you advise?? kind regards. carl

the diff lock only locks the center diff in the transfer box not all the diffs

is a diff lock overhaul a major, heavy duty job, i don't think mines happening.
i had the switch out today and checked it worked and the light came on,
but when i put it back inti the transfer box it din't light up.
i also engaged the lever to lock the diffs and lay under the car spinnning the prop flanges(props were off), and although they moved together, they could still be swivelled independently,if i held one still.(does that make sense?)

make sure your linkage is pulling all the way over.

If you need it, i have a complete working transfer box here.

also make sure your difflock switch is screwed in far enough
