Im not sure on the fuel comsuption on the 90s so just looking for some feedback on what you guys get...

On Sunday, before meeting with everyone in Salisbury I've put £30 of diesel, when I did this the reserve light had just come on not many miles ago...

So far I've done 150miles....and I need diesel again!?
The offroading bit wasnt much, and the most driving was on main road maintaining a constant 60mph.... have done a bit of town driving, but not really much as Newbury is only small...

I'm almost sure I can get more miles on my disco?
but my 90 as a 200 disco engine in..

Is this normal? seems like its drinking diesel!

on a run i can get 30 - 35 - that's with a disco tranny box, I've only ever calculated the MPG as i drove to Orkney and back within 3 days and knew i'd just be sat at 65 ish for 1500 + miles

i darent work out what it normally does - i'd guess at 20 - 25 ish ?

that's about what you are getting

Ok...so its normal then!

I thought was a bit too thirsty, considering has the same engine as my disco, but its lighter, I thought would get more miles out of it..

putting a disco tranny box on the 110 made a noticeable different, but other than one long trip I've never had the bottle to work out an accurate consumption figure

It would have worked hard on the plain over the weekend, also cold engine will use more fuel as its not running efficiently. mine is going through the diesel a bit at the moment, does need a service though. when did you last service it?

G

I was on the plains, but only did 2 miles...maybe not even that.

I only bought it on the 2nd of Jan.... we've had so much snow here that I can't even get underneath it to do a service and a complete mechanical check up.

plus my disco is still on my drive waiting to sort out the starter motor...

don't forget diesel is at it's most expensive now, so if you put £30 in it then it would'nt be like putting £30 in it 3-4 months ago! You're not gettin as much diesel for your money, the best thing to do is to put 30 litres in it and then work it out, you should get around 32mpg with a 200tdi or 300tdi.

my old 90 is the same engine/grbox as yours and i might be getting a tad more than you have discribed but not by a lot mate.
the only way to be sure is fill the fooker right up do a normal weeks runing around then re-fill and work out mpg
also mate my injecter pump has been wound up to give more umph ;):D
