is it recommended to put suspension in low when switching off?

I have been advised by several wise P38 Pundits to always select 'LOW' when parking and switching off, whether for a long or short period. I am not sure if this is wise advice because obviousely the airbags and height sensers are forced to go through a cycle every time one does this. In the long run this could theoretically lead to fatigue problems? Surely it would be better to leave the height setting at wherever it happens to be when switching off?
Perhaps the advice is aimed at reducing the P38s height to a minimum so that when the BeCM wakes up and checks the suspension heights (as I believe it does from time to time) it would be unlikely to try to reduce the ride height any further.
Perhaps this is just a load of nonsense and I must admit I am getting fed up with telling my wife to close the passenger door while I lower the P38. Any wise advice will be very welcome.

Ignore them.....

Leave it in standard - if you drop it to Access, the system has to work to raise the car back up again causing unecessary work/stress so leave it as is....only really select access for a short person else leave the system to do its thing.....

If it keeps dropping overnight if left in standard and on the level - you have a leak and should be found and rectified.

I think of the top of my head the max permissabel drop overnight is 5mm or so...if it drops more than this and the vehicle is parked on level ground - there could be a leak, the bags only have a life of 7-8 years (80k miles or so) so if they are original, they will no doubt be very tired by now!!
