Is it possible a brake cylinder can go in flipped over?

also what diameter pipe do i need? bought one of them tubes with a bung n the end and a slit in it, but its too small, good job it cost a quid

i've got a few of these and they are a pain to get on unless you've got very dry hands as the tube is very flexible - the dia of the tube does look small but it will fit

your nipples dont look any bigger than normal

looking at it again - meybe they just fitted it upside down?

you cant fit them upside as they'd not fit the cutout in the backplate

but they could have swopped the left and right hand backplate

fenby will be along with part numbers and corrections shortly :D

I think that the problem is that the bleed nipple has been fitted to the wrong port on the passenger side cylinder. Check these photos - the bleed nipple is in the port in the chamferred face on both LH and RH cylinders:

didnt think the top one had a bleeder  ah well, defniatly thinking the brake line and bleeder are wrong way around, ah well, i'll find out if i need to swap it after i've bled the rest.

didnt get an eezibleed, got a vizebleed or varibleed or something, about 11 quid cheaper. kinda like the silicone tube (which i agree with sean with are a complete arse to get on, hence why we gave up, even tried widening it but nope) but has a wider end, and uses a clip type thing over the bleed nipple to clamp it on

You'll still be able to bleed the one with the nipple in the wrong place, as you're using the eezybleed type thing. It doesn't matter that you can't get the pipe on it - just open it up and catch the oil in a container of some kind. It'll probably make a bit of a mess but it's easily cleared up. I don't think it really matters that the bleed nipple and pipe are the wrong way around, because like you pointed out the top cylinders have a pipe going into them instead of a bleed nipple. My policy is to disturb things as little as possible when working on brake hydraulics because the unions are so prone to getting seized up. Good luck with getting the bleed nipples undone without shearing them!
