is it gonna be possible???

we currently have the engine/gearbox and transfer box outta me mates defender 300..we have another engine to go in and a brand new gearbox and recon transfer box,if we remove the centre crossmember could we get the engine,box,and transfer box all bolted together and dropped in in one piece or is it not achievable

yes it can be done, so long as your crane can handle it and get the engine high enough.

we do have engine hoist hopefully it goes high enough

If you remove the rad and slam panel it'll go in no problem.

yeh its already out

thats how tookout the td and put in the tdi in mine, easy if ya patient and steady with the host, also 2 people would make it easyer.

Keep a set of axle stands and a trolley jack close to hand then when you get it most of the way in you can put the jack under the gearbox and the axle stands are useful if you need to reposition the hoist.

gonna be 3 of us thats how we done my 200 tdi and found it a lot easier 1 on the hoist and the other 2 manouvering the engine

good idea we have 5 axle stands and 2 4 tonne trolley jacks so will use them
