After buying a Td5 discovery ( which I really like ) i've done the usual and scoured the add's for aftermarket accessories, and have come up with a wish list , which I'll get round to eventually, but after owning quite a few cars over the years notice that Td5's are fairly expensive to work on if gathering parts for a engine rebuild , mine is on 155 thou and so sooner or later is going to lunch it's self and retire , looking at engines for sale on the net etc turns up various lumps from a £1000 to 1400 quid (pounds) if you buy a td5 and it does go bang your looking at , at least half the value of the car if it's a 99-2001, for a second hand somewhat untested engine , plus labour if you choose not to do the work yourself , pretty much writing off a vehicle on cost grounds,As great as they are off road are they really a good buy risks involved . ?
