I own Disco 1 300TDI EDC Auto.
Do you think an EDC is expedition worthy setup?
I am preparing for a week long expedition into the jungle of Sumatra with local boys here in Indonesia and I am wondering if I should go to mechanical pump, or get a spare ECU. I like my EDC, but I am not sure what would happen if I submerge the car.

This video is from last year CLIP LAND ROVER CLUB INDONESIA " Jelajah Alam 8 " BORNEO - YouTube.

What would happen is none of the ECUs or relays u have fitted will survive if u submerge the car in it's standard form, don't do it.

Well, as you can see in the video clip I attached, if on an expedition, its hard not to get wet at some point.
So I do understand that the ECU will not survive if submerged, I need to seal it somehow or move it higher. What about the rest, the pump and relays?

Anything electrical will have to be sealed against the ingress of water, the other ECU 'u may' have are for ABS, windows. security and then there's the multifunction unit.

Yap, that means I will have a lot of work, basically any box that's under the dash needs to be sealed.

As I said in another posts, that calls for a lot of surgical gloves and vaseline (and don't get any ideas). You put the vaseline on the seals of the box and the connectors then insert into surgical glove. To seal the exit, use zip tie and more vaseline. It works.

Looks like a winch is a must and alot of waterproofing.carry lots of spares aswell because you may need them.

Looks like fun tho
