hi all have noticed to day that where the front propshaft goes into ird it is a bit damp around where it bolts on is there a seal in there that needs changing and it it a easey fix many thanks dawn
 
Black seal at bottom of pic. Easy to change.

hi hippo thank u yes that looks like it is that the only seal in there its not dripping oil it just looks damp around it is that the seall that could be causing this many thanks dawn
 
It's the only seal around the ird pinion gear. Pinion just slides in. Could it be the grease from the prop to pinion joint, leaking? Or is it on the ird pinion seal? Could be dripping from somewhere else and flowing due to wind when your driving. Here's a pic of whats inside when the pinion is removed:

hi guys thanks for rplys no it is deff coming from where it bolts on to the ird its not dripping oil it seems to be a very slow weep it just looks damp around that area so there are 2 seals that need to be changed there one looks like a oring one looks like a paper type gasket many thanks dawn
 
When I re-fitted my props after renewing the VCU I also repacked the CV joint, the old grease had turned to a fairly thin oil and had started to leak out around the flange.
