Ird relocation

I've started doing the clutch on my td4 today. Changed the clutch, no problem. However I'm having a nightmare of a job relocating the ird.
Has anyone got any tips or tricks for this ?

It should slip into the gearbox easily. Maybe you'll need to turn the shafts slightly as there are 2 that need to engage. Otherwise it's normally an easy job.

Perhaps I might drop it back out and have another go. It's not a job I want to do on my own again.

With the NS driveshaft in the gearbox, put the gearbox in gear, and spin the NS wheel, while pushing the IRD into place

I dropped the subframe to get the ird out. Should I refit it then build the suspension back up and then connect the driveshaft ?

no turn the flange and twist box as you push it up

Just to clarify James, are you saying rotate the shaft on the n/s or o/s while inserting the ird ?

you can loosely fit lhs drive shaft and turn it to align the splines or turn the ird flange whilst rotating ird

All back together now. Just waiting to get some gearbox and ird oil and I'll be done.
