Hi guys, sorry for the hassle. Long and short of it is the second hand IRD Box I got is fecked and I guy I bought it off say it was ok when he sold it to me and to just feck off. 400 quid down the drain. So im now looking to see if anyone knows where I might find a good second hand one. At now not bank breaking money :D
Also seeing that I'm in Ireland if shipping is involved that will also come into cost and my money printing machine just pack in too :jaw:

If it were me I would just go to bell engineering and get a good recon box. Ird boxes don't normally explode for no reason, how is your vcu?

VCU is good only changed it about 5000 km ago. And to be honest after spending money on one fecked IRD box !! I don't have money to go to bell if I had I would definitely.

Was thinking about that, but will it not just cost me more money and probably no win as it was a private sale and no receipt ?? And on top of that still doesn't fix my main problem

As I'm in NZ I bought a bearing/seal/cooler IRD kit, had it shipped over and got a local gearbox outfit to install the bits in my broken IRD. Assumes your gears are all OK of course. You can get crown/pinion gears. The kit I got from Home | One Stop Gearbox Shop for about 130 quid. I'm presuming the kit's OK the bearings were a mix of Tolken another brand and a couple just in plastic bags, it came with 2 seals - but the outfit that fitted it said they needed to source another couple. Its been in for about 4,000kms now with no trouble. There are various outfits selling these kits on EBay. It cost me about 300 quid to have the IRD reconditioned with these bits.

I'd never buy a 2nd hand IRD - far far too risky. Get a reconditioned one or recondition your own.

The one I bought has had something done with it. It only drives in 2 wheel drive. My local mechanic took it to have a quick look now he is no gearbox whiz but he says their are cog wheels grind down. So it won't engage in 4 wheel drive?
I don't know
