Have you got a picture of the back of the radio? and have you got a picture of the square lead? maybe someone will be able to recognise what the lead is for.

got mine done in a local radio garage a couple of years ago.connected to cd player you carnt have both working.and a holder for ipod fitted to side of heater control panel works great.about £120 all in.

OK, I've been doing some research to see if I can plug my iPod Touch in to the Freebie. The answer depends on whether you have a pre or post facelift car: mines a 2005, therefore post facelift.

This means it's more complicated as the FL5 radio doesn't have a line in - the CD changer is integral.

You can use an iTrip-style device via FM, but they're not all that great in terms of sound quality.

So the best option is to replace the radio with an after market head unit. There are lots on the market, but check they'll work with your iPod as they vary.

You will need a facia adapter and a wiring connector, which together cost
about £30. After that, the world's your lobster.

I've been looking at Alpine units that can also work as a Bluetooth car kit, and they do double height units too which will fill the space more.

Not cheap, but should work well.

If you've got a pre facelift car then it's easy - either get a plug-in adaptor as mentioned in other posts, or replace the head unit as it's a standard size.

HTH :)

I have the same radio situation. What did you end up doing? What parts did you buy?
Thanks in advance

Best option for me was to buy a £49.99 face-off player from Halfrauds, make sure it has an 'aux' plug and you simply plug the iPod into it -simple, and none of the issues associated with FM transmitters. Halfrauds charged about £20 for fitting and the only other thing I needed was an auxillary lead at about a tenner.

The iPod fits into a mobile phone holder next to the unit and you can keep it on charge via the cigarette lighter socket.

Hi,
iv just upgraded my parrot bluetooth for a newer version the mk9100i (I think thats what its called) any way it gives you handsfree for your phone and also has the required plugs for an ipod, usb pen and also a 3.5mm jack so basicaly anything can be plugged into it. I got it for a birthday present but think they are around £100 quid of amazon.
