Hi all
I hope i have joined the right site where I might be able to get some proper help I have had a serious love/ hate relationship of over thirty years with a 110 hicap ending up with a total rebuild over the last year I thought about ending it (divorce and suicide) on several occasions during the re build but cant bring my self to be parted from it. Is this normal ? is it some kind of perverse self punishment? is it a known medical condition HELP I

Good to see I am not alone. I don't think its the green oval syndrome I've had several others with the oval the classic ,p38 to l322 and in most cases I've been glad to see the back of them , nothing wrong with the basic engineering but the electrics that's another matter (windows deciding not to work as u pull up close to the car park exit, the air suspension jacking the arse in the air to give it the dragster look, ecu corroding under the drivers seat, constant battery drain, park near a supermarket checkout and the remote wont start the car .No for me there is some thing special about the rugged, simplicity and confidence a defender gives. If it breaks down {and it will i can fix it most times} I can drive across ploughed fields, up mountains and pull houses down with it.{ land rover the first and best -Toyotas and Nissans -bit girly not for real men] Land rover were all ways ahead of their rivals with natural air conditioning you don't need extra horse power its free, with a defender you don't need all that modern electrickery like rain sensors ,you know when its raining it comes through the doors and windows, likewise exterior temperature sensor you just know when its bloody freezing ,who needs need lane alert other drivers always bib to let u know when your using both lanes Driving just a short distance is a whole body work out (clutch brakes and steering} so just about the perfect vehicle, environmentally friendly, go any where, lasts for ever{occasional total rebuild} keeps you fit and you can look cool in the summer with your arm out of the window. you even get to wave to other owners what other vehicle can you do that in {who said Reliant Robin}
